SUMMARY:Chamber Luncheon at Notre Vue March 2023
DESCRIPTION:"In Conversation With" Maureen Merrill\n\nand the Leadership Windsor Team\n\n\n\nWhat is Leadership Windsor? It is the Chamber's groundbreaking new program: a Chamber sponsored community leadership program designed to add value for members\, improve the business environment and create strong bonds of understanding between diverse community leaders.\n\n\n\nWhat does leadership in a community mean for business\, professions and industry in Windsor? Chamber members are well aware that local culture and support promote a sustainable\, sound economic environment. At the heart of it all are well-informed\, deeply connected and engaged local leaders\, prepared and enthusiastic about serving the community through organizations\, arts\, business\, educational and governmental roles. \n\n\n\nPresenting information about LeadWin at our March luncheon is the Steering Team of Maureen Merrill (Program Director)\, Tim Ricard (Town of Windsor)\, Gina Fortino Dickson (Attorney\, Planning Commissioner)\, Sue Nelson (retired President of Brelje & Race Engineering\, and one of Windsor's early planning professionals)\, Ben Lehr (businessperson and past Planning Commissioner)\, and as our Chamber representative\, Beth Henry. \n\n\n\nMarch is the Chamber Annual Meeting\, and the Chamber will say a few words about the state of the Chamber.\n\n\n\nOur Member of the Month is George Petersen Insurance agency and they have a history of delivering exceptional service at competitive pricing\, their focus has always been on serving their clients and helping to protect their assets.\n\n\n\nWe will be at Notre Vue Estate Winery and Vineyards\, with food catered by Tomi Thai.\n\n\n\nMaureen Merrill bio:\n\nMaureen Merrill has been engaged in Windsor community life and business since she and her husband\, Sonoma County residents since the 70's\, moved here in 1989. Maureen's main professional involvement is in coaching and consulting through her Merrill Consulting practice. She works with leaders and organizations in various industries and professions to develop confident communication\, teamwork and success strategies. \n\n \n\nAfter campaigning hard for Windsor's 1991 incorporation election\, Maureen was elected to our very first Town Council. In this role she helped catalyze downtown renewal\, introducing and advocating for a modern and integrated approach to development. She has been in business downtown\, as well\, has owned a health club along with two retail stores. A longtime member and leadership developer in Rotary both locally and regionally\, Maureen has years of experience working with individuals to develop practical and visionary leadership skills. In addition\, she has served on the board at Luther Burbank Center (where she remains as an Advisory Council member) and the Sonoma County Alliance\, as well as our Windsor Chamber\, among other volunteer interests.\n\n \n\nMaureen has long been inspired to help develop new\, informed participants for elected\, appointed and volunteer roles in Windsor's future. Along with many other business and professional persons in Windsor\, she is a graduate of Leadership Santa Rosa. She has long envisioned a similar\, Windsor-based version of this community learning experience for our home town. Today\, thanks to our Windsor Chamber of Commerce\, the vision is becoming reality! As the director and coordinator of the program's 2023 kickoff\, Maureen is happy to join our Leadership Windsor Team to discuss and share this exciting enterprise that will prepare and nurture future leadership in our community.
